This is a piece of video shot by Joe Morris on the 2007 USO Tour.We are in an armoured car riding to the airport thru the streets of Kabul Afghanistan.Don’t pay attention to anything but the window and the sights outside..It will open your eyes and your heart. These people live in conditions that are stunning.Very little to no electricity,no sanitation hardly anything we take for granted…Watch it a few times .

I am writing this from Sacramento California..Keni Thomas and I are doing a duo version of Cornbread for a few days…Played a killer packed out show last night in Boise Idaho at the Buffalo Club. Did a couple of radio interviews (KIZN) and played a few songs and got to hang out and meet some great folks. Thanks to everyone that waited in line before the show and hung out with us afterwards! Boise definitely was a great place with great folks!
Got up this morning and got on a plane and headed west…Hung out all afternoon at a radio station(KNCI) here in Sac. meeting the staff playing some songs and talking about Hank Williams.Felt right at home! Thanks again! We’ll play tomorrow for the National Guards Formal Ball. Can’t wait.

I’m back…..-comments-

Hello everyone out there…good to be home from a few different journey’s..Been traveling with Keni and Cornbread .We had a great time and great show in Vegas (as in Las Vegas not Nash-Vegas).What a place..I’d never actually been there and seen it. Been thru the airport a few times but wow…it goes without saying that it’s mind blowing. The whole place is so far over the top and blown out of control..Very fun and cool to see it. Had a great time with the NCOA group as well. That crew never fails to impress me!

We red eyed it to Washington DC and camped out at American University where we were well taken care of and looked after. Thanks to all the kindness of strangers and strange people we survived it and had a fun night at the Tavern there on campus!
Jenna and Sarah guided myself and the band thru the dangerous streets to a Mexican place. Thank you! Great time and can’t wait to get back that way! Viva La Cornbread!
Below is a shot of the Lution and Jenna the Uber Merch girl!

Just wanted to say a hearty THANKS to everyone that braved the crazy heat yesterday and came to see us downtown at the CMA/Fan Fair . This was my 1st time playing it and it was a blast! It was over really fast…kinda like the Opry.If you blink it’s done…so I tried to pay close attention and enjoy it. The fan club party was a blast as well…Fried pickles! Not sure who was in charge of that but I say WELL DONE! Most of you folks are still here in town and enjoying the music so drink alot of water and wear that sunsreen! Thanks!

Chicago (sorta….)-comments-

Made it home from a weekend with the Cornbread boys in Chicago….well we landed in Chicago. The gig was in Wheaton I believe…? Anyway I saw the skyline a few times…Great weekend and I wanna say thanks to Paul & Mike for all the love while we were there! Great guys that are passionate about their work and it’s obvious. I love being around folks that love what they do…most folks we spend time with all wanna be doing something else.Successful working music types all wanna be at home more…less working music types all wanna be out on the road more…all the waiters and waitress’ in LA wanna be acting more…the ones working all wanna direct and make music…ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Maybe if we could try to enjoy wherever we are a little more it’d make the journey a little shorter & sweeter..?Just a thought…..
Speaking of that, I missed the flight on saturday to Chicago by mere seconds…I have never missed a flight before and wasn’t happy about this being the first…While I waited on the next flight I tried to practice the above pearls of wisdom. I was there,I was stuck and there was NOTHING I could do…I had to get all zen and breathe deeply and try to accept that I’d been left.I had a 2.5 hour wait to embrace this reality…Eventually I made it to the venue/tent,clamshell thing…Cantigny was a spectacular place and we had a great show.Played well.laughed loud, ate wonderfully, slept like a rock and even had great coffee and sunshine sunday morning…all good. Made it to the plane home about an hour & a half early!

*My guitar didn’t and had to catch the next flight home. She made it home safe & sound…… thanks for asking!

May is here and summer’s around the corner! I love that! As many of you know I have been joining in on guitar and vocals with Keni Thomas and Cornbread…Keni’s new CD (Gunslinger) is out and he’s been getting busier. The single “Shrievport to L.A.” is getting some add’s and airplay which rocks! You need to check him out and get this CD…it’s a great, great record from start to finish! We played a few weeks ago in Columbus Ga, and Melbourne Fla. This weekend we’ll be in Dahlonega Ga. Later on this month we’ll be in Chicago and also at the Grand Ole Opry on May 24th!
Definitely check out Keni by clicking HERE!
You’ll be glad you did!

April showers…..-comments-

I don’t think the sun is ever gonna shine in Nashville again…It’s like Seattle or London here…rain, rain and more rain…Enough already!
I am up to my eyeballs in a new project I’ve been recording in Atlanta with producer/rockstar and friend Alan Yates. We are working on a worship record…(for those of you that don’t subscribe to the lingo)…This is a church record..i.e. songs that’d be played primarily in church services. Hymns and originals…we’ve recorded 7 songs and I am in the background vocals part as we speak(type.?). Anyway very excited about it and getting it out to you fine folks! Hope all is well and I love hearing from you so comment to your hearts content! Later!
